A New Chapter

Here in the quiet of my dining room on a Sunday morning, I sit alone even though it's 8:00 AM. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life, one which took me years to arrive at. I made an adult decision about a career choice that will hopefully carry me long term. I've felt guilty about not making a decision like this sooner, but I'm also past thirty and I've learned I don't have to apologize for my decisions, even to myself.

I'm going to school to become an Esthetician. Today is the first day of class. On the one hand, it feels like it's my first day of first grade and on the other, like the first day of a new job. I suppose that's for the best. It's a good month for beginnings. It's fitting that my newest adventure begins with the new year. Outside the sun is shining; I've always seen it as an omen of good things to come, especially when it breaks through during the winter. The only strange part is that I've got butterflies. I am excited, but also nervous about the commitment—six months—I hope it won't be hard for my husband who is extremely supportive and willing to pick up the slack. What a gem, you guys. I don't deserve him.

School will be full time for the next two weeks, so if I don't write as often here in my blogs, please forgive and hang on. I'll be back to part-time by late January and plan to write the heck out of my stories and thoughts on making the most of T.I.M.E.. In the meantime, thank you so much for following my journey to become a professional writer. Writers need readers or our dreams remain forever a hobby. So, thank you for reading and engaging. I'm more motivated and inspired by your comments and encouragement than you could possibly know.

Time's up. I've got to warm up the car, grab my stuff, and hit the road. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the whole school thing. I'm planning eventually to begin another blog where I'll write tips on skincare, makeup, and wellness. Keep an eye peeled, folks. I'm off...to make the most of the time I have. I wish you all the same in your endeavors today.
