The wonder we, as human beings can experience at witnessing the symbiosis of epic collaborations, agreements, and partnerships for survival is due, I believe, to the harmony that lies between each of the two parts. There in that ethereal junction where men and nature represent Heavenly light is an incredible source of inspiration. Oftentimes, it's born out of the strife and sweat that came before the new-found peace or work of art. The effort it takes never ceases to amaze me.
I've never tried to put into words how this concept touches me. I've been afraid they couldn't possibly represent my wonder when two voices blend in song, creating a sound so vivid and perfect that it raises the hairs on my skin and strikes at the numb places in my heart. Or how I am warmed when I see two groups of playground enemies come to the aid of another falling off the monkey bars, easily casting aside the politics of war when a more important need materializes. I'm afraid they would fall painfully short in describing my inner peace when the term "agree to disagree" passes over the lips of family members and best friends. Why do these small things inspire so well?
Look at the juxtaposition of its beauty against the darkness in this world. Acknowledge the lengths it must rise to in order to shine against the evil and the hate that can be seen at times in even the smallest of human circles. It's lovely when contrasted with the default reactions of human nature. Imagine if we all set aside our own interests for one moment to consider what could be achieved by collaborating instead of dividing? Or what compromise might bring to the fore?
In nature, this is understood by the animals keeping each other from going extinct and by the chemical reactions keeping the atmosphere balanced for our benefit. If we humans could take a lesson from the beasts and elements, we might see that working with one another is a way to rise to heights of progress and understanding. And more— because when progress is seen, our mind’s health improves and our souls are fed. I don’t dwell on who is right and who is wrong. The energy it takes to pass judgement on something I could never know has the power to drain me to the point of depression. Leave it to God. Leave it to die in the past. If there is a shadow over you, move on from that place to find a new land of light and peace.
